I watched this hoping that at last we would see a realistic representation of jhow it feels to become disabled, and yet again I was disappointed.The director had sen fit to gloss over the messy frustrating aspects, of becoming paraplegic, in favour of suggested struggle, faltetring love and cute disturbingly blase` children. They did touch on the fact that many partners, and families split up due to being unable to accept the diagnosis of paralysis...but the subject, like so many others, was too graphic and uncomfortable for the non disabled public. I found the entire drama to be unrealistic, twee and the fact that the director ect saw fit to clean it up to make it acceptable, really angered me..after all we were not spared anything in Born on the 4th of July and I loved that film ..so why must we endure this censored version on the whole FITS was a very poor, patchy attempt at saying in a patronizing way {can we expect anything less}
we know how you feel {patting the hand in a caring poor sod type of fashion}. now heres our take on this traumatic event in your lives.As I was watching with a friend who has overcome a horrific spinal injury I felt doubly angry.

It was insulting to anyone who has suffered a spinal injury..The actress Caroline Quentin reputedly said I really admire people with spinal injuries yes like they want your admiration..All the way through I felt like I should apologise to my friend for inflicting this on him...S
